BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Supports Harvest Hope Food Bank

COVID-19 has impacted daily life from healthcare to employment. The economic and emotional pressures resonate with all of us as we navigate the "new normal."

Over the past two months, Harvest Hope Food bank has served more than 68,000 people in spite of a weak food supply chain and limited volunteers.

Last year, through your online and canned food donations, BlueCross employees provided more than 32,000 meals. Although we won’t collect canned goods at our buildings this year, you can help meet the increased need for food by clicking on the green "donate" button.

This year our goal is to provide more than 30,000 meals. Will you please consider donating today?

Give a child a gift of reading and be entered into a drawing for a read along with the authors!

Former Gamecock and NFL football players, Langston Moore and Preston Thorne’s latest book, #JustAChickenLittle (the sequel to #JustAChicken”) is available to order! Scroll down to buy one for you and buy a second one as a gift to a Harvest Hope client.

Books will be delivered through interoffice mail in July.  Twenty five winners will be randomly drawn to join Langston and Preston via a video platform as they read their latest children's book about finding inner strength and developing problem solving skills and answer your questions. You must purchase two books to be eligible for the read along with Langston and Preston.

Thank you for continuing to give during these challenging times.

In Support of Harvest Hope Food Bank
Harvest Hope is South Carolina’s largest food bank, providing over 20 million meals on average to neighbors in need across the Midlands, Pee Dee and Upstate. Harvest Hope is on a mission to eliminate hunger and food insecurity in South Carolina. We rescue nutritious food from stores throughout the state and distribute it to food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens.

We operate programs that provide food for our most vulnerable citizens – children, seniors, and rural residents who don’t have access to grocery stores. We also run our own emergency food pantries in Greenville and Columbia where anyone in need can get a week’s supply of groceries for free.

Harvest Hope began in 1981 as the result of a shared vision of business leaders and the faith community, who set out to provide for the hungry in Columbia. Since then, Harvest Hope has increased its mission to feed the hungry across 20 counties in South Carolina.
