In 2000, Harvest Hope launched the Mobile Food Pantry Program to serve low-income individuals and families who are at high risk of chronic hunger and nutritional deficiencies, and lack transportation to food assistance agencies.
The program has grown tremendously in addressing these critical needs, and has distributed more boxes than ever during the last year. These boxes are filled with nourishing, nutritionally dense non-perishables. This food is a combination of donations from our retail partners, produce distributors, community food drives, and product purchased with financial donations.
A healthy diet contains a balance of three main nutrients- carbohydrate, protein, and fat. Unfortunately, we often experience a protein shortage.
Why tuna? Tuna is small and mighty, easy to store, has a long shelf life, and has a high protein content. Tuna can be added to many meals for a much-need protein boost!
