Did you know that in our community, 1 in 5 children don't have enough to eat on weekends and during school breaks? The backpack program at Harvest Hope Food Bank provides weekend meals to children facing hunger.
Each week, we fill backpacks with nutritious food to ensure these children have access to the fuel they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Your donation can make a difference!
Even slight malnutrition can steal a child's potential.
It hinders their physical growth and brain development, making it harder to focus in school, keep up with their peers, and fight off illness. This can lead to missed school days and a cycle of falling behind.
Together, we can ensure no child goes hungry.
We need your help to provide for an extra 4,000 children this school year. The cost of a backpack pales in comparison to the value of ensuring a child has enough food for the weekend.
Will you support a child this school year?
Make a lasting impact in the lives of children in our community. Donate to the Backpack Program today!

In Support of Harvest Hope Food Bank
Harvest Hope is South Carolina’s largest food bank, providing over 20 million meals on average to neighbors in need across the Midlands, Pee Dee and Upstate. Harvest Hope is on a mission to eliminate hunger and food insecurity in South Carolina. We rescue nutritious food from stores throughout the state and distribute it to food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens.
We operate programs that provide food for our most vulnerable citizens – children, seniors, and rural residents who don’t have access to grocery stores. We also run our own emergency food pantries in Greenville and Columbia where anyone in need can get a week’s supply of groceries for free.
Harvest Hope began in 1981 as the result of a shared vision of business leaders and the faith community, who set out to provide for the hungry in Columbia. Since then, Harvest Hope has increased its mission to feed the hungry across 20 counties in South Carolina.
